Hello again, dear bloggers. Have you ever met certain people in your life who can make you laugh with just about every story they tell? We have a nurse at work that always makes me laugh. (Megan Baby, if you're reading this, think of Kay.) You have to imagine a cheerful-looking Southern lady who tells her stories with a drawl.
Well, last night at work, Kay did not fail to disappoint. She was relaying a story about her 4-year-old niece who attended Sunday school this past week. I'm going to attempt to type this in the same manner (lisp, drawl, and all) as it was told to me with a Southern drawl and a 4-year-old lisp. Imagine, dear bloggers, a large Southern family around the dinner table listening raptly as this particular niece recounts her version of Easter. And also keep in mind that some of the larger words got a little mixed up....
"Well, everyone, um, there wath the only forgotten Thun of God. And he wath perfect. And the Jewth were thaying, 'Cruthify him!' And Punchuth Pilate thaid, 'But I don't think he did anything wrahwng!' And that made the Jewth mad, and they yelled some more, 'Cruthify him!' But he didn't do anything wrahwng (note the Paula Dean accent here), and Punchuth Pilate, well, he finally had enough and washed hith handth and thaid, 'Fine. You cruthify him.' But he didn't do anything wrahwng. And then, the Jewth, they cruthifahd him. And then, (long pause), he dahd. And they put Jethuth in a hole. And they put a biiiiiiiig rock over it. And then, two women came to visit Jethuth after he dahd. But they didn't find Jethuth. There were two angelth, and they thaid, 'Well, you won't find him here, becawse he is in prison.'
While this little girl tells her aunt every week how "Jethuth died for my sinth," I confess I laughed quite a bit about the Only Forgotten Son, Puchus Pilate, and Jesus being in prison instead of arisen.
