Almost Walking

Hello, dear blog readers! Along with the "big news" that Big C. is managing to stand up on his own from time to time without support, we can say he will probably be walking soon. Along with that news comes the downside: Poor C. has a shiner from the side of his face all the way to the bridge of his nose from realizing he wasn't hanging onto the coffee table and then grazing his face on a chair on his way to the floor. Poor guy.

After that, we took him (and us) out for Cheap Date Night at our new favorite local happy hour spot in downtown Corvallis. It's right next to the park by the river. The picnic tables are in the shade, and we can't beat the $2-$3 food offerings and cheap-yet-very-tasty beverages. We gave Big C. his first taste of blueberry pie and he LOVED it. If you look closely in the picture, you can see the bruise under his right eye along with some mild swelling (it actually worsened today), but everything else isn't bruising. It's fruit residue. Just to clarify for all of you folks who are wondering why the rest of his little mug is purple.

And, just for fun, I found a photo I didn't realize was on my phone: high tea with "Grandma Bea" and "The Other Grandma," Aunt Kathy. I hope I have a girl someday who will appreciate tea!
