The Coast

Hello, dear blog readers! Since we're getting down to the wire both in terms of having a baby and getting ready to move, Hubbs and I decided last weekend to risk the hour-long trip to the coast. I was a little bummed that I might not see it before we leave, so it worked out well in terms of trip/infant timing.

The highlight of the day: between rain storms and sunshine alternating about every half hour to an hour apart, we were able to get to Agate Beach on the north side of Newport. The tide was out, so we were able to take Toodler to examine the marine life in the shallows. Among other things we saw were huge clusters of clams, various sizes of starfish, anemones, and about five dead birds (presumably drowned or downed during the particularly stiff storm that happened a couple of days before we arrived). There were seal pups resting on the outcroppings of rough rocks off of the shore, which made for a fun Toodler visit.

Happy Thursday, dear blog readers! Time to go deal with yet another HR goofup in order to make sure I have insurance coverage past April 1st. At least I know the situation CAN be remedied since we went through this about a month ago....
